Congress holds Pad Yatra across Jammu, Srinagar, criticizes BJP for diversionary politics

JAMMU, Sept 7: The Congress party marked the first anniversary of the Bharat Jodo Yatra by organizing a massive Pad Yatra from Miran Sahib to Satwari in Jammu. The event was led by AICC Incharge J&K Affairs and Member of Congress Working Committee, Smt. Rajni Patil, along with JKPCC President Shri Vikar Rasool Wani, AICC Secretary Co-incharge Shri Manoj Yadav, and Working President Raman Bhalla, among other senior Congress leaders.
Similar Pad Yatras were organized in Srinagar and all districts of Jammu and Kashmir as part of a nationwide program to celebrate the first anniversary of the historic Bharat Jodo Yatra.
These celebrations sought to replicate the Bharat Jodo Yatra initiated by Shri Rahul Gandhi, which covered a distance of over 4,000 kilometers over 145 days, carrying messages of love, religious harmony, and opposition to hatred, economic inequality, and rising prices.
The Yatra commenced with the hoisting of the flag by Smt. Rajni Patil, organized by volunteers of Congress Seva Dal. Smt. Rajni Patil and senior leaders then led the march from Miran Sahib Main Bazaar to Satwari Chowk, accompanied by enthusiastic crowds chanting slogans such as "Bharat Jodo Nafarat Chhodo," "Rahul Gandhi Zinda Bad," "Congress Party Zinda Bad," "Kharge Sahib Zinda Bad," and "Sonia Gandhi Zinda Bad." Participants included Congress members from various wings, PRIs (Panchayati Raj Institutions), blocks, district committees, DDCs (District Development Councils), BDCs (Block Development Councils), Sarpanchs, Panchs, and other prominent figures and social activists.
Anniversary celebrations in Jammu were coordinated by DCC Rural and Jammu Urban, attended by all frontal wings, PRI representatives, blocks from Jammu District, former ministers, former legislators, and corporators.
Similar Yatra programs were organized by district units in their respective districts, led by senior PCC leaders, district presidents, and other prominent leaders.
Addressing the gathering, AICC Incharge Smt. Rajni Patil emphasized the historical significance of the day when the Bharat Jodo Yatra was launched by Shri Rahul Gandhi from Kanya Kumari to Kashmir. She highlighted the yatra's message of brotherhood, harmony, love, and affection, as well as its focus on economic inequalities and pressing national issues.
Rajni Patil praised the people of Jammu and Kashmir for wholeheartedly supporting and joining the Bharat Jodo Yatra despite challenging weather conditions and snowfall. She acknowledged the historic unity displayed during the Yatra, which stood against divisive forces seeking to disrupt peace, harmony, and diversity.
