Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 8: The Indian Red Cross Society in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory conducted a four-day First-Aid training program aimed at Commercial Vehicle drivers and youth members of the community. The training, which concluded on September 8, 2023, covered various essential topics related to disaster management and first-aid care. During the four-day training, participants learned about different techniques for disaster management during emergencies such as earthquakes, fires, and floods. They were educated on the importance of first-aid kits, wound care, bandaging, types of fractures, handling bleeding emergencies, and burn care. Special emphasis was given to the emergency techniques for dealing with bleeding patients and accident victims. The program also included demonstrations on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and choking incidents. The training sessions were led by Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma and Dr. Asia Noor, both Medical Officers, with assistance from Kanchan Devi and Ravi Kant Magotra, Sup. Pharmacists, and Joginder Kumar, Pharmacist, from IRCS, Jammu Region. On the final day of the training, Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary of IRCS J&K UT, personally interacted with all the participants to gather feedback on their training experience and its practicality. Provisional certificates were distributed to the participants by the General Secretary. He also briefed them about the organization's mission and how it contributes to various sections of society. The training was deemed highly beneficial and concluded on a positive note, enhancing the participants' knowledge and skills in providing essential first-aid care during emergencies. |
