GDC Paloura conducts weeklong "Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K" awareness activities

JAMMU, Sept 9: Government Degree College Paloura initiated a series of weeklong activities under the theme "Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K" (Corruption-Free Jammu & Kashmir). The events aimed to raise awareness among the youth and foster understanding of the governance system.
The week commenced with a lecture on the menace of corruption, delivered by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Ashu Vashisht, on Teachers Day. The lecture provided insights into the detrimental effects of corruption on society.
On September 6, 2023, a poster making competition was organized under the theme "Say 'NO' to Corruption." Students enthusiastically participated, using their creativity to spread awareness against corruption through their artwork.
On September 8, 2023, a solemn "Anti-Corruption" pledge taking ceremony was conducted in collaboration with the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). The event, led by Dr. Ashu Vashisht, the college's Principal, reaffirmed the commitment of the college community to combat corruption. The week's culmination featured a slogan writing competition on September 9, 2023, where participants penned slogans highlighting the importance of a corruption-free Jammu & Kashmir.
The primary goal of organizing these activities was to create awareness among the youth and acquaint them with the intricacies of the governance system. By addressing the issue of corruption, the college sought to inspire a sense of responsibility and ethical values in the younger generation.
The entire program was meticulously organized by a committee comprising Prof. Shikha Bhasin, Prof. Vijay Kumar, Dr. Preeti Rachna, and Prof. Mridul Mahajan, who ensured the successful execution of each event.
Government Degree College Paloura's commitment to spreading awareness about corruption and promoting ethical values among the youth reflects its dedication to fostering responsible and socially conscious citizens.
