Degree College Hiranagar proudly unveiled a newsletter showcasing the remarkable achievements of the "Meri Mati Mera Desh Campaign." The campaign, organized under the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. Pragya Khanna, brought together students, faculty, and staff in a collective effort to foster a deep connection with the motherland and promote environmental awareness. The campaign commenced with a memorable plantation drive at the historic Jasmergarh Fort in Hiranagar. A dedicated team of non-teaching staff and enthusiastic NSS volunteers diligently planted a variety of saplings, with 75 pits prepared to ensure successful growth. The campaign included a pledge-taking ceremony where participants committed to achieving the "Panch Pran" or "Five Resolves" as envisioned by the Honorable Prime Minister, with a focus on developing India by 2047. A grand tribute to the nation was paid under the banner of "Maati ko Naman." Students created rangoli, lit earthen diyas, and hoisted the Indian flag while holding soil in their hands, fostering a deep sense of patriotism and pride. A spirited rally to CRPF headquarters in Hiranagar was organized. Students proudly carried national flags, chanted slogans like "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "Vande Mataram," and paid floral tributes to the martyrs, expressing their unwavering support for the nation's security forces. GLDM GDC Hiranagar, in collaboration with CRPF Headquarters Hiranagar and Nehru Yuva Kendra, organized a cultural program called "Vasudha Vandan." The event paid rich tributes to soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. Prof. Vikram Singh Jamwal embarked on a solo 77 km bicycle ride as a tribute to the freedom fighters of the nation, aligning with the 77th Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2023. The campaign culminated with "Veeron ka Vandan," an initiative to honor brave freedom fighters and the families of defense security personnel who sacrificed their lives for the country. Retired officers of the defense were also felicitated during this meaningful program.
