Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 9: In a momentous observance of World First Aid Day on September 9, 2023, Fire & Emergency Services headquarters in Batmaloo, Srinagar, and Gandhinagar, Jammu joined forces with the Health Department to conduct extensive First Aid training programs. The event, aimed at equipping personnel with life-saving skills, featured distinguished guests and medical experts. Alok Kumar-IPS, ADGP, Director of Fire & Emergency Services, J&K, presided as the chief guest. The training program commenced with the rendition of the National Anthem, followed by a warm welcome address from Dr. Abrar, Medical Officer of the Fire & Emergency Services Medical Unit in Batmaloo, Srinagar. Medical teams from the Health Department in Srinagar and Jammu imparted essential First Aid training to approximately 700 personnel, including jawans and officers from Fire & Emergency Stations across the Union Territory. Attendees were educated on critical aspects of First Aid, including specialized medical treatment, burn injuries, wounds, fractures, unconsciousness, and electric shock scenarios encountered during fire-fighting and rescue operations. Alok Kumar-IPS ADGP, Director of Fire & Emergency Services, J&K, commended the dedication of the medical professionals who provided vital First Aid training to service personnel on the occasion of World First Aid Day. He emphasized the importance of further disseminating this life-saving knowledge among colleagues to increase the chances of saving precious lives during emergency operations. Simultaneously, a similar event took place at Fire & Emergency Services headquarters in Gandhinagar, Jammu, presided over by R.K. Raina, Deputy Director of Fire & Emergency Services, Command Jammu. Dr. Manju, Medical Officer of Fire & Emergency Services, Jammu, actively contributed to the program. The training sessions were attended by various departmental officers, including Administrative Officer, Accounts Officer, and Command Officers from Jammu & Kashmir. This coordinated effort between Fire & Emergency Services and the Health Department on World First Aid Day showcases a commitment to enhancing emergency response capabilities, ultimately contributing to the safety and well-being of the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. |
