Focus on eradicating corruption, promoting transparent governance

POONCH, Sept 9: Mohammad Farooq Dar, JKAS, Special Secretary to the Government, Agriculture Production Department, and Prabhari Officer of Panchayat Degwar Mardalyan in Poonch District, chaired a meeting with officers of various line departments, PRI members, and the general public to assess ongoing projects and discuss the "Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K week."
The "Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K week" is being celebrated throughout the Union Territory from September 4 to 10, 2023, with the goal of eradicating corruption and promoting transparent and accountable governance.
Farooq Dar stressed the importance of addressing public issues promptly and delivering services transparently. Frontline workers from departments like Revenue, PWD, PDD, PHE, JJM, RDD, Agriculture, and Fisheries informed the public about online services available in their respective departments, emphasizing the move towards a corruption-free environment.
The visiting officer interacted with departmental officers to understand the steps being taken for grievance redressal. He encouraged active public participation in government programs and schemes and called for better coordination and convergence between departments for improved service delivery.
Sarpanch Parvinder Singh shared insights into emergent issues and expressed satisfaction with the successful completion of important projects in recent times.
Mohammad Farooq Dar, JKAS, who also holds the position of Director Fisheries, conducted tours of Poonch and Rajouri Districts. During his visit, he inspected the Fish Farm in Haveli, Poonch, and the Mahseer Brood Bank in Bhindi, Rajouri. He emphasized proper maintenance of the farms and the need to create awareness among the public about beneficiary-oriented schemes in the fisheries sector. He encouraged unemployed youth to avail the benefits of centrally sponsored schemes. He also emphasized the timely completion of ongoing and new projects for the benefit of the public.
