Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 13: In a remarkable initiative aimed at improving the health and well-being of the community, Tawi Tawi Welfare Society, in collaboration with Gandhi Global Family (Women) Andaman & Nicobar Islands and JK UT Chapter, organized a "Free Eye Check Up Camp" at APNA VAN SURE CHAK. The event witnessed a turnout of 167 patients who benefited from the expert care provided by a dedicated team of doctors. The event was graced by the presence of Bharat Bushan, District Development Council Chairman of Jammu, who honored the occasion as the chief guest. A team of renowned medical professionals led by Dr. Rohindra Lall, MD (Former) AIIMS New Delhi and currently Director of Rohin's Eye Hospital in Port Blair, provided their expertise. Pawan Khajuria, Chief Refractionist, and Anil Manhas, Refractionist from GMC Jammu, joined hands to ensure thorough eye examinations for all patients. In addition to the medical services, a plantation drive was organized, with all dignitaries and attendees enthusiastically planting trees, symbolizing their commitment to a greener and healthier environment. The event also marked the initiation of important infrastructure development work. Geetu Aulakh, Member DDC Jammu, generously contributed Rs. 3 lakhs to kickstart the construction of a path leading to the Statue of Late RC Gupta, a project that promises to be a significant asset for the community. The event drew the presence of several prominent personalities, including Ms. Anuradha Lall, President of GGF (Port Blair) Andaman and Nicobar Island, and Padam Shree Dr. S.P. Verma, President of GGF (J&K). Madan Lal, Chairman of BDC Mandal, Dinesh Gupta, Chairman of IRC Jammu, Kirandeep Kour, BDO Mandal, Dr. Sumeer Koul, BMO SOHANJANA, Som Nath, Sarpanch of Mandal, Balbir Singh, Sarpanch of Sohanjana, and Gopal Sharma, DFO (Retd.), all came together to support this noble cause.
