NC will sweep impending ULB polls in Chenab Valley: Rattan Lal
9/13/2023 10:22:05 PM
Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Sept 13: Observing the situation after concluding four days long tour of Chenab Valley, Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President JKNC Jammu asserted that the National Conference (NC) will sweep the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in Chenab Valley as the present dispensation has miserably failed to stand on the expectations of general public.
While addressing party workers meetings in Banihal and Ramban here today, the senior NC leader lamented the state of affairs under the LG Administration in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that this era would be remembered for its rampant corruption and misgovernance. He specifically pointed out scandals in the Jal Shakti and Health Departments, as well as various recruitment scams. He accused the LG of adopting a policy of silence regarding these issues, failing to take appropriate action and address the public's concerns.
Rattan Lal Gupta has also expressed surprise over the Rs 13,000 crore scam in the Jal Shakti Department which was brought to light by IAS officer Ashok Parmar. He asked LG administration and other investigating agencies why he has remained silent regarding these serious allegations, questioning the lack of response from the LG's administration and other investigating agencies.
He asserted that the Government at the Centre had promised moon to the people of Jammu province but delivered a big zero on ground. Moreover it arrogantly and arbitrarily continues to follow the anti people policies with the result that it has met the same fate as that in Valley with people of Jammu region having totally discarded this party. The worst part of the things is that BJP betrayed the trust reposed by the people of the Jammu region and they are now feeling cheated by the saffron party, he added.
As part of his four-day tour of Chenab Valley, Rattan Lal Gupta visited and covered seven Municipal Committees including Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Thatri, Bhadarwah, Batote, and Banihal. Based on his interactions with the residents and party cadres, he observed that the people are fed-up with the present government for its alleged corruption, loot, and misgovernance.
The Provincial President asserted that the people of Chenab Valley have high hopes from the National Conference and promised that the party will provide better amenities than the present dispensation. He urged the party cadre to prepare for the upcoming ULB polls, confident that the NC will emerge victorious.
Earlier, both the meetings were convened under the chairmanship of Haji Shajjad Ahmed Shaheen, District President Ramban. He enlightened the senior functionaries of Party that the local administration in Ramban is totally nonfunctional, resulting in the suffering of general public, especially those residing in far-flung areas have increased manifold. He emphasized that the grievances of the people have been ignored, leaving them without proper basic amenities.
DDC Chairperson Dr Shamshad Shan, DDC Members, Bashir Ahmed Ronyal, Shameema Akhtar and Mohd Sahfi expressed their disappointment with the local administration, accusing it of being non-supportive and causing delays in development projects.
Shiekh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial Secretary and Pardeep Bali emphasized that the National Conference is the only party capable of fulfilling the aspirations of the people. They urged the public to rally behind Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah in order to bring about positive change and progress in Jammu and Kashmir. They reassured the people that the National Conference is committed to addressing their concerns and working towards a better future for all.
