Early Times Report
CHATROO, Sept 14: As part of the ongoing activities in celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, with a focus on truth and non-violence, the NSS unit of Govt Degree College Chatroo, under the guidance of Dr. Ved Kumar, the college's Principal, organized an intriguing and informative program titled "Science Behind Miracles." The event, attended by both teaching and non-teaching faculty, aimed to demystify seemingly miraculous occurrences through a scientific perspective. Dr. Ashaq Hussain, an esteemed Associate Professor and nationally recognized resource person, graced the event as the key speaker. Dr. Ashaq captivated the audience with a series of mesmerizing magic experiments and tricks. However, he didn't stop at entertainment; he elucidated the scientific principles underpinning these seemingly supernatural feats. Dr. Ashaq stressed the importance of upholding the principles of science and reason in a world where some individuals, often self-proclaimed 'babas,' exploit these very principles to deceive and exploit innocent individuals under the guise of performing miracles. He urged vigilance and critical thinking when encountering such claims.
Dr. Ved Kumar, in his concluding remarks, commended Dr. Ashaq Hussain for shedding light on the scientific aspects of apparently miraculous events. He urged both students and the audience not to fall prey to deceptive claims made by those who misuse scientific principles for personal gain.
The program was an undeniable success, leaving attendees with a deeper appreciation of the science behind seemingly supernatural phenomena and a heightened awareness of the importance of critically evaluating claims of the supernatural. Prof. Waseem Rasheed extended a vote of thanks to conclude the program, which was a valuable addition to the ongoing celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti at GDC Chatroo.
