Govt Degree Degree College Vijaypur celebrates Hindi Diwas

JAMMU, Sept 14: Department of Hindi in collaboration with NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College Vijaypur under the flagship banner of Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations 2023 including Nasha Mukt Bharat and Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K organised a series of activities including documentary screening, poster-making competition, symposium and poetry recitation competition to commemorate Hindi Diwas. Hindi Diwas, celebrated annually on September 14th, holds a special place in promoting and preserving this national language. Students of Hindi and NSS volunteers of the college participated actively in the events with great enthusiasm, fervor and zeal.
The event commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Neelam Kumari (Lecturer, Hindi) delivering an insightful speech, sharing valuable thoughts on Hindi Day with the participants. Participating students through their poems, posters and speech shedded light on Hindi's importance as a unifying language; traced the origin of Hindi and highlighted its crucial role in India's fight for independence; highlighted that Hindi plays an indispensable role in every aspect of life and should be actively promoted and preserved.
Whole of the event was conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Vandana Gupta, Principal of the College. While speaking on the occasion, she congratulated the faculty of Hindi Department and NSS committee for organizing such an event whereas she stressed upon the importance of celebrating such days. She further articulated that this day is dedicated to promote and propagate Hindi language. Mementos were presented to the best performers in all the events while certificates were presented to all the participants of all the events. The whole event was coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convenor, NSS), Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO), and Sonia Devi (Lecturer, Hindi). Refreshments were also distributed to all the participants during the event.
