Ex-CPFWA delegation meets CRPF Commandant, discusses issues | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 15: A delegation representing the Ex-Central Paramilitary Force Welfare Association (CPFWA) from Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT) met with Commandant Vikram Singh Thakur of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to discuss a range of issues concerning ex-servicemen and central paramilitary forces. During the meeting, the association expressed its gratitude to Commandant Vikram Singh Thakur for taking the time to listen to their demands and concerns. They stressed the importance of honoring the memory and service of deceased ex-servicemen and underscored the need for providing timely assistance to the widows of ex-servicemen. The delegation also called for financial assistance to be extended to the daughters of ex-servicemen and their families. Additionally, they proposed an exemption from Goods and Services Tax (GST) for pensioners, citing concerns about the high rates recommended by the Central Pay Commission (CPC). Drawing a parallel with the defense forces, the association advocated for the implementation of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) policy for other paramilitary forces such as the Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), CRPF, and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Furthermore, the delegation sought a resolution for the superannuation settlement of retirees from the paramilitary forces. The association expressed its gratitude to Commandant Vikram Singh Thakur of the CRPF for giving them a patient hearing and also commended the CRPF Nodal Officer for providing a positive response during the meeting. The delegation consisted of S.K. Sharma (President, CPMF J&K UT), Harbans Lal (Vice President, CAMP J&K UT), and D.K. Chauhan (General Secretary). |
