GDC Ghagwal celebrates Gandhi Jayanti and Hindi Pakhwara with enthusiastic activities

JAMMU, Sept 19: The Organising Committee of Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations and Hindi Pakhwara at Government Degree College (GDC) Ghagwal has been actively conducting a series of events and activities to commemorate these important occasions.
As part of the ongoing Hindi Pakhwara, Dr. Kajal and Ms. Harvinder Kour organized a 'Sulekh Prtiyogita' on September 18, in which three exceptional students were recognized as winners. The judging panel, consisting of Dr. Rajni Bala and Dr. Deepika Sharma, awarded the following positions:
First Place: Riya Devi
Second Place: Chahat Kohli
Third Place: Mehak Sambyal
On September 19, a lecture by students on the topic 'Aadhunik Hindi Lekhakon ka Sahitik Parichay' was held. Aniket Kumar secured the first position, followed by Riya Devi in the second position, and Babbu Kumar in the third position.
During the Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations, on September 18, the NSS Program Officer, Dr. Vani Awasthi, along with her team comprising Dr. Sheetal Thappa, Dr. Rahul Verma, and Dr. Tania Baloria, organized a reading session about Gandhiji in the college library and the Browsing Center of the college.
Continuing the celebrations on September 19, the GJC team organized a Hindi Lecture series presented by students, shedding light on the life of Gandhi. These lectures aimed to familiarize students with the various values and principles that Gandhiji upheld throughout his life.
Dr. Sujata Slathia, the Principal of the college, commended the efforts of both staff and students in organizing a diverse range of activities. She highlighted how these initiatives contribute to the holistic development of the students, fostering a deeper understanding of Hindi literature and the profound teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
The celebrations at GDC Ghagwal are a testament to the commitment to preserving and promoting the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and the rich heritage of Hindi literature.
