Early Times Report SAMBA, Sept 20: The Department of English at Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College Samba orchestrated a captivating book reading activity as part of an ongoing series of events dedicated to honoring the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, following the directives of the Higher Education Department. Approximately 50-60 students from Semester 3 and 5 enthusiastically participated in the event. They delved into the pages of books authored by Mahatma Gandhi, including "My Experiments with Truth" and "All Men are Brothers." This literary exploration allowed students to uncover the profound life experiences of Gandhiji, shedding light on his unwavering commitment to Truth, Ahimsa (non-violence), and Satyagraha (truth-force) - principles that paved the path to India's independence and self-reliance. As the students immersed themselves in the world of Gandhi's writings, they absorbed the essence of his philosophy, which emphasized compassion and brotherhood. The session left them with valuable takeaways centered on Gandhian ideals.
