Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 19: In a momentous development, the Women Reservation Bill achieved a resounding victory in the Lok Sabha, securing 454 votes and a two-third majority. This historic milestone has been celebrated across the nation, with political leaders and citizens hailing it as a significant step towards women’s empowerment in Bharat.
Prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the women of Bharat following the successful passage of the Women Reservation Bill. In an official statement, he expressed his unwavering support for the bill and commended the BJP-led government, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for achieving what had eluded the opposition, notably the Congress, for the past seven decades.
Gupta emphasized that the BJP’s accomplishment in passing the Women Reservation Bill stands as a testament to the party’s commitment to translating promises into action, countering claims made by the opposition that the BJP only makes empty pledges.
Highlighting the BJP’s track record of fulfilling its promises, including the construction of the Ram Mandir and the abrogation of Article 370, Kavinder Gupta praised the party for reinvigorating and preserving the cultural and historical heritage of Bharat through this landmark legislation.
Kavinder Gupta did not mince words in criticizing the Congress for attempting to claim credit for the passage of the Women Reservation Bill. He pointed out that the Congress had been unable to pass this crucial legislation over the course of seven decades, while the BJP had actively advocated for it. He squarely blamed the Congress and its allies for obstructing the progress of the bill in the past.
Expressing optimism about the bill’s positive impact, Gupta envisioned that with one-third women members in the new Parliament, the functioning of the highest temple of democracy would be characterized by both decorum and efficiency. Drawing a parallel between the presence of women in households and their positive influence on creating a respectful and harmonious environment, he expressed hope about the numerous prospects and opportunities that this bill opens up for the women of Bharat.
The passage of the Women Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha marks a historic moment in the journey toward gender equality and women’s representation in Bharat’s political landscape. With widespread support and anticipation of positive change, the nation eagerly awaits the bill’s journey through the legislative process.
