GDC RS Pura join hands for cleanliness drive in Gandhi Park

RS PURA, Sept 21: In commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti, the 2 Jammu and Kashmir Girls Battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC), in collaboration with Government Degree College (GDC) R.S. Pura and the Department of Environmental Sciences, organized a community-driven Cleanliness Drive at Gandhi Park, R.S. Pura. This initiative showcased their commitment to Mahatma Gandhi's principles of cleanliness and social responsibility. The Cleanliness Drive initiative was carried out under the guidance and leadership of Dr. Rajni Bhagat, the esteemed Principal of GDC R.S. Pura. Lt. Shaveta Chowdhary, NCC Associate NCC Officer, and Prof. Esha Abrol, Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, supervised the event, ensuring its successful execution.
The NCC cadets actively participated in cleaning Gandhi Park, actively collecting and disposing of paper and plastic waste to help maintain the park's pristine environment.
The cadets took the opportunity to engage with members of the general public present at the park. They raised awareness about waste segregation, proper waste management practices, and the importance of keeping public spaces clean and green.
Additionally, the cadets played a crucial role in spreading awareness about cyber security. They shared insights and information with the public on simple practices to safeguard personal computers, mobile phones, and other devices from malicious cyberattacks.
Dr. Rajni Bhagat, Principal of GDC R.S. Pura, expressed her appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the NCC cadets. She lauded their commitment to community service and encouraged them to continue contributing to society in meaningful ways in the future.
