Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 21: In an emergency meeting convened by various Sikh organizations in Jammu & Kashmir, members expressed their collective concern over what they perceive as discriminatory treatment by both the Centre government and the Union Territory government of Jammu and Kashmir towards the Sikh minority community in the reservation of seats in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and Assemblies. The meeting, chaired by S. Mohinder Singh, Chief Organizer of Bhai Kanahiya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K and former member of DGPC Jammu, saw unanimous support for addressing this issue. Various Sikh organizations in Jammu & Kashmir gathered in an emergency meeting to discuss the alleged discriminatory treatment of the Sikh minority community in seat reservations. Participants expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of representation and recognition given to the Sikh community in various legislative bodies. Sikh organizations appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to provide reservations for the Sikh community in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and state assemblies during upcoming elections. The meeting welcomed the recent passing of a bill in Parliament that provides 33% reservation for women and urged the central government to extend similar reservations to the Sikh minority community in both central and state legislatures.
