The MoU was signed by Dr. B. N. Tripathi, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Jammu, and Professor Barney Glover, Vice Chancellor & President of Western Sydney University, during a ceremony held at Shangrila-Eros Hotel, New Delhi. SKUAST Jammu and Western Sydney University have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing academic cooperation and facilitating various avenues of collaboration. Western Sydney University is recognized as the number one university in the world for the second consecutive year according to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. It is renowned for its contributions to research, innovation, and leadership development. The MoU outlines plans for joint academic programs, including dual degree and sandwich programs, student internships, and student exchange programs. Research collaborations in areas of mutual interest, particularly in agriculture, veterinary sciences, and allied sectors, are among the focus areas of the partnership. Dr. B. N. Tripathi, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Jammu, emphasized the significance of such partnerships with top global universities, highlighting their potential to elevate SKUAST Jammu's standing at both national and international levels. The MoU is expected to benefit both students and faculty members, providing students with access to world-class facilities and opportunities at WSU and promoting joint research collaborations for faculty members.
