GDC Ramnagar inspires students with declamation contest

RAMNAGAR, Sept 22: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar, under the patronship of Dr. Bhavnaish Chand, Principal of GDC Ramnagar, organized an enlightening inter-college declamation contest to mark the celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti. The theme of the contest, "Truth and Non-Violence," resonated with the timeless principles of Mahatma Gandhi.
The contest centered around the two fundamental pillars of Gandhian philosophy, which served as the bedrock of his spiritual journey and paved the way for India's triumphant march towards freedom. Fourteen students, brimming with enthusiasm and a profound understanding of Gandhian values, participated in the event. Each participant delivered a compelling speech that delved into the ideology and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. Notably, the students actively engaged in group discussions, fostering an environment of shared knowledge and insightful discourse.
The distinguished panel of judges included Prof. Harmeet Kour, Head of the Botany Department; Dr. Rashmi Gupta, a faculty member in Physics; and Dr. Kiran, a faculty member in Botany. Their discerning evaluations ensured that the participants' speeches were both enlightening and thought-provoking.
The symposium was impeccably coordinated by Prof. Ritika Mahajan, the NSS Programme Officer at GDC Ramnagar, whose dedication to the event was instrumental in its success.
Principal Dr. Bhavnaish Chand, in his address, praised the organizing team for their remarkable efforts in conceptualizing and executing the declamation contest. He also emphasized the enduring relevance of self-reliance, communal harmony, truth, and non-violence-values that Gandhiji ardently propagated. Dr. Chand urged the youth of India to embody these attributes in their lives, recognizing them as the cornerstone of serving the nation and nurturing a better future.
The declamation contest not only paid tribute to the indomitable spirit of Mahatma Gandhi but also instilled his values in the hearts and minds of the participating students, inspiring them to carry forward his legacy of truth and non-violence.
