KATHUA, Sept 22: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua, 2nd Jammu and Kashmir Girls Battalion, embarked on an educational journey to bolster cyber security awareness as they observed "Cyber Security Week" from September 18th to 23rd, 2023. In a commendable initiative, the NCC unit organized a poster making competition event to equip 40 NCC Cadets with essential knowledge about cybercrime security and prevention.
Under the able guidance of the esteemed Principal of GDC Kathua, Prof. Seema Mir, and the dedicated supervision of Associate NCC Officer (ANO) Dr. Rachna Devi, the event saw enthusiastic participation from the cadets. The day was marked by a series of informative sessions aimed at instilling the importance of cyber security in every facet of safeguarding organizations, their employees, and invaluable assets against the ever-evolving cyber threats.
Principal Prof. Seema Mir addressed the cadets, highlighting the paramount significance of cyber security in today's digital age. She emphasized that the proactive approach to cyber security is essential, asserting that "If you don't want others to hack your system, upgrade it before the others do." Additionally, she shed light on fundamental security measures, such as regular password changes and privacy settings adjustments, as pivotal steps in fortifying online safety.
Principal Mir expressed her immense pride in the NCC Girl Cadets and the tireless efforts of the Associate NCC Officer of the Girls Wing at GDC Kathua.
