Govt SPMR college of commerce organizes lecture on stress management | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 22: The Department of Commerce at the Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, organized a lecture on the topic of "Stress Management" in collaboration with ICFAI Business School (IBS) for B.Com students under the aegis of G20. Dr. Surinder Kumar, the Principal of the college, was the chief guest, and Mr. Arun Verma, Branch Manager of ICFAI Business School, served as the resource person for the lecture. The event began with a formal welcome address by Dr. Sarabjeet Kour, who introduced the topic of stress management to the students. Prof. Barbara Kaul, the Head of the Commerce Department, emphasized that if stress is left unaddressed, it can lead to depression and anxiety in students, which can negatively impact their performance. She motivated the students to make the most of the session. Mr. Arun Verma, the resource person, conducted an interactive session with the students, during which he discussed the concept of stress and its management in detail. He emphasized the significance of time management in coping with stress, highlighting strategies such as clarifying priorities, setting goals, evaluating how time is spent, and developing an action plan. Mr. Verma also pointed out that students often face career-related stress. More than 50 students participated in the event with enthusiasm. Faculty members who attended the program included Prof. Ashu, Dr. Shipra, Dr. Jagmeet, Prof. Shreya, Dr. Fayza, Dr. Roomi, Prof. Sindhu, and Prof. Kusha. The entire event was organized under the guidance of Prof. Barbara Kaul, and it concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Charandeep Handa. |
