GDC Sidhra organizes insightful lecture on 'Corruption: When self-interest prevails over common good'

Jammu, Sept 22: The Department of Sociology, in collaboration with the Literary Committee of GDC Sidhra, came together to organize an enlightening Extension Lecture on the theme 'Corruption: When Self-Interest Comes Before the General Good.' The event featured Mr. Kulbir Singh, JKPS, SSP CO IR 18 Bn., Jammu, as the resource person, who shared valuable insights on the subject. Distinguished guests also graced the occasion, enriching the discourse.
The entire program was seamlessly conducted under the guidance of Shonima Malhotra, HOD Sociology, who orchestrated the proceedings.
Students from various semesters actively participated and shared their perspectives on the theme of corruption. The competition brought out the analytical and expressive skills of the participants, with two outstanding students earning recognition. The first prize was awarded to Ibrar Ahmed of Semester 3, while the second prize went to Saprina Naz, also from Semester 3.
Dr. B.B. Anand, the Principal of the college, honored the guest of honor, Mr. Kulbir Singh, by presenting him with a memento.
The winners of the competition were also acknowledged with mementos in recognition of their outstanding contributions.
The program drew to a close with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Rudrika Khajuria, HOD English, expressing gratitude to all participants and contributors who made the event possible.
The successful execution of the program was made possible through the tireless efforts of Shonima Malhotra, with the invaluable patronage of the college's worthy Principal. The active support and coordination of the members of the Literary Committee, including Meesha Bhagat, Anu Sharma, and Rudrika Khajuria, further ensured the event's success.
The NSS Unit of the college also made a meaningful contribution to the program's accomplishment, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the institution.
