Sahitya academy seminar explores the Rich history of Dogri language and literature

Jammu, Sept 22: The two-day seminar organized by Sahitya Academy New Delhi in collaboration with the P.G. Department of Dogri at the University of Jammu reached its second day, diving deep into the exploration of the history of Dogri language and literature. The seminar, held at the Seminar Hall of the Department of Computer Sciences, University of Jammu, commenced at 10:30 a.m. with its third session, presided over by the eminent writer Prof. Archana Kesar. During this session, three papers were presented, each shedding light on different aspects of Dogri literature. • Dr. Neelam Sarin presented a paper on the "History of Dogri Novels." • Dr. Sandeep Sufi presented his insights into the "History of Dogri Poetry."
• Dr. Radha Sharma delved into the "History of Dogri Short Stories."
The papers garnered high praise from the attentive audience in the hall. Dr. Goswami raised questions and offered valuable suggestions during the session. Prof. Archana Kesar, in her presidential address, provided valuable feedback for the improvement of the papers. The session concluded with a tea break, leading to the final session of the seminar.
The last session of the seminar was presided over by the distinguished Dogri writer and Sahitya Akademi awardee, Prof. Veena Gupta. Dr. Radha Rani initiated the session with a paper on the topic "History of Dogri Drama." Dr. Chanchal Bhasin followed with a presentation on the "History of Prose," and Dr. Padam Dev Singh discussed the "History of Dogri Criticism." All three papers in this final session received significant appreciation from the audience, with Dr. Padam Dev Singh's paper raising thought-provoking questions and suggestions.
In her presidential address, Prof. Veena Gupta also contributed questions and suggestions concerning the growth and advancement of Dogri Language and Literature.
