Early Times Report SAMBA, Sept 23: In a proactive move to maintain law and order, the Samba Police, under the vigilant supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police, Benam Tosh, apprehended two individuals involved in wielding sharp-edged weapons, locally known as 'Toka,' at separate public locations within the jurisdiction of the Vijaypur Police Station in the Samba district. The arrested individuals have been identified as Vikas Sharma, son of Tilak Raj, a resident of Dilhani tehsil Bishnah, district Jammu, and Abhi Kumar, also known as Abi, son of Karam Chand, hailing from Joian tehsil Arnia, district Jammu. Two cases have been registered against these hooligans, namely FIR No. 131/2023 under Section 4/25 of the Arms Act and FIR No. 130/2023 under Section 4/25 of the Arms Act at the Police Station Vijaypur, and investigations are currently in progress. Vikas Sharma was apprehended for possessing and brandishing a sharp-edged weapon ('Toka') during a Jagrata event organized by the public at Jakh. Meanwhile, Abhi Kumar was arrested for similar actions involving a 'Toka' at Rakh Barotian Vijaypur. The successful arrests were executed by a dedicated police team, which included SHO Vijaypur Sandeep Charak, PSI Sohail Munir, and ASI Kulbir Chand, all working under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary. Senior Superintendent of Police Benam Tosh has been actively directing the police force in Samba to take stringent actions against anti-social elements in the society. The arrests of these hooligans serve as a testament to the commitment of law enforcement agencies in the Samba district to uphold the law and ensure the safety and security of its residents. |
