Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 25: An informative and vital one-day awareness program was recently conducted at MIER College of Education (SOE), Jammu. The event, organized by Civil Defence, saw enthusiastic participation from 90 female students enrolled in B.Ed, B.Ed Special, and M.Ed courses. The program aimed to equip students with essential knowledge about First Aid, CPR, choking, amputation, snake bites, and emergency rescue methods. Civil Defence experts led the program, imparting valuable insights into disaster management and life-saving techniques. The primary objective was to sensitize both students and staff members to the importance of precautionary measures during natural or man-made calamities. Furthermore, the session aimed to empower attendees with improvised methods for providing critical first aid to disaster victims. During the event, Civil Defence experts delivered lectures on the aforementioned topics, ensuring that participants received comprehensive knowledge on disaster preparedness and response. Dr. Adit Gupta, Principal of MIER College, expressed his appreciation for the significant role played by Civil Defence in spreading awareness about disaster management and First Aid. He underscored the importance of equipping individuals with the skills necessary to respond effectively during emergencies. Among the dignitaries present at the event were Dr. Rohinika Sharma, Head of the Department, Dr. Ritu Devidi, NSS Program Officer, and other dedicated staff members of MIER College, who actively supported and participated in the awareness camp.
