DC reviews ICDS services in Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 25: Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, on Friday presided over a meeting of Child Development Project Officers of the district to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the ICDS services. The meeting primarily discussed the ICDS operations, including the functioning of Anganwadi Centers and analyzed the demographics of the beneficiaries. The Deputy Commissioner sought insights into the major challenges faced by these crucial establishments. He emphasised the need for seamless coordination between the CDPOs and the Sub-Divisional Magistrates to enhance the effectiveness of their collective efforts. Emphasis was laid on the well-being of children with a spotlight on nutrition. He raised pertinent queries regarding the standard procedures and stakeholders' involvement within this initiative. Expanding the scope of the discussion, the DC also inquired about the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and proposed strategies to ensure the efficient delivery of benefits to the intended recipients. He also examined the officers on the functioning of Direct Benefit Transfer operations, a critical component of the welfare schemes. Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner entrusted the Sub-Divisional Magistrates with the task of inspecting the quality of meals provided to the children, particularly in border areas. He emphasised the need to prioritise the welfare of the impoverished and marginalised sections residing in the remote corners of the district. The functionaries were asked to furnish mandatory reports to the DC office in time. The meeting also delved into various vital issues, encompassing a range of committees and bodies dedicated to the welfare of children. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh; SDMs, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Piyush Dhotra and District Social Welfare Officer. |
