Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 26: The IGNOU Jammu Regional Centre, in collaboration with the Department of Social Forestry, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, conducted a plantation drive at the under-construction campus of the Regional Centre Jammu in Rajinder Vihar Bantalab. This initiative was organized as part of Special Campaign 3.0 "Swachhta Hi Seva" under the Swachhta Pakhwada, which the Regional Centre Jammu is observing from September 15, 2023, to October 2, 2023. Dr. Sandeep Gupta, the Regional Director I/C of Jammu Regional Centre, led the initiative. Also present were Deputy Registrar S. Tejinder Pal Singh, Assistant Regional Directors Dr. Asha Upadhyay and Dr. Vikram Singh, Section Officer Dara Singh, and other staff members of the Regional Centre. A team from the Social Forestry Division Jammu actively participated in this Special Plantation Drive. The Regional Centre Jammu is actively participating in the three-tier campaign for cleanliness, including "Special Campaign 3.0 Swachhta Pakhwada," "Swachhta Hi Seva (SHS)-2023," and "Mission LiFE." These initiatives involve various activities to be carried out over a fortnight. The planned activities include cleanliness drives at various locations, including the Regional Centre and Learner Support Centres, organizing webinars and seminars to raise awareness among the public, disposing of obsolete items at the Regional Centre and LSCs, conducting plantation drives, visiting Waste Processing Plants, organizing awareness programs, and hosting competitive theme-based activities for students, among other initiatives. Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director I/C, expressed, "Regional Centre Jammu has proactively been organizing various programs related to cleanliness from time to time under the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' of the Government of India, and efforts have also been made to reach out to the local populace through the learners and Learner Support Centres across the region." |
