ADGP Jammu Decorates Retiring SSP Ashok Kumar with IPS Rank

Jammu, Sept 30: In a ceremony held today, Mukesh Singh, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for the Jammu Zone, decorated Ashok Kumar, SSP, Staff Officer, with the rank of IPS. Ashok Kumar was recently inducted into the Indian Police Service (IPS) along with other officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Police services as per a notification dated September 29, 2023.
Following the decoration, a farewell function was organized by ADGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh, IPS, in honor of Ashok Kumar, IPS, SSP, at the Conference Hall, Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) in Jammu. Ashok Kumar is retiring from service on September 30, 2023, after dedicating over 24 years of his life to the police department.
ADGP Jammu Zone and DIG JSK Range, kti Pathak, spoke during the event and commended Ashok Kumar for his dedicated service in various capacities within the department. Ashok Kumar served in roles including the Vigilance Organization, Police Training School (PTS) in Vijaypur, and twice as the Staff Officer to the ADGP Jammu Zone.
Ashok rma, IPS, SSP, received numerous Commendation certificates, rewards, and appreciations from senior officials for his outstanding performance in his duties. He was also awarded the DGP’s Commendation Medal in 2004 and the Chief Vigilance Medal in 2007. In recognition of his exemplary courage while discharging his duties, he received a reward of Rs. 51,000.
The function was held to show appreciation for the dedicated services rendered by Ashok Kumar, IPS, SSP (Staff Officer), to the institution. The department extended its best wishes to him for a happy and prosperous post-retirement life. Chandan Koli, IPS, SSP Jammu, Rajinder Katoch, JKPS, SSP, Staff Officer to DIG JSK Range, and other officers, non-gazetted officers, and staff of the ZPHQ Jammu were also present at the event.
