DODA, Oct 2: Doda Police has taken strict action against the owner of a dhaba for allegedly selling illicit liquor in the Assar area. The police acted on specific information regarding the sale of illicit liquor and apprehended one Anil Kumar, son of Mani Ram, a resident of Paga Reasi, who was operating a dhaba at Kanderi Assar.
During the operation, a substantial quantity of illicit liquor (Desi Whisky) was recovered from Anil Kumar's possession. In response to this incident, a case FIR No. 16/2023 under Section 48(A) of the Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Assar, and the investigation into the case is currently underway.
It is noteworthy that Doda Police has initiated a special drive to crack down on drug peddlers, bootleggers, and other criminal elements in the region. This year alone, 18 FIRs have been registered under the Excise Act in the district, demonstrating the police's commitment to maintaining law and order and combating the illegal sale of liquor. |
