Dr Darakhshan Andrabi leads mega cleanliness drives at Sufi Shrines | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Oct 2: Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board and Minister of State, spearheaded a Mega Cleanliness Drive at the renowned Sufi shrines of Makhdoom Sahib and Dastagir Sahib in Srinagar. The Fire & Emergency Services Department and the Srinagar Municipal Corporation collaborated with the Waqf Board for this significant cleanliness initiative. Employees of the Waqf Board were joined by volunteers from the public to actively participate in the cleanliness drive. Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi was accompanied by Dr. Ghulam Nabi Haleem and Mohammad Syed Haqqani, members of the Waqf Board. The Waqf Board launched a Mega Cleanliness Program at all shrines in Jammu and Kashmir on this occasion. Similar cleanliness drives were carried out by the Board at the Chrar-e-Sharief and Pakherpora shrines. Dr. Andrabi emphasized the importance of cleanliness as an integral part of an individual's faith and highlighted that such cleanliness programs are essential to instill a collective habit of cleanliness. She stressed that Sufi shrines, where inner cleansing of the soul and mind takes place, must be maintained clean and tidy to ensure a pure environment. Dr. Andrabi expressed her gratitude to the staff and the administration of the Fire & Emergency Services and Srinagar Municipal Corporation for their valuable assistance in the cleanliness drive. She emphasized that public support and cooperation are indispensable for achieving meaningful changes at the grassroots level. Dr. Andrabi affirmed the Waqf Board's commitment to providing basic facilities and services to the people at all shrines and underscored that any negligence on the part of Waqf Board staff in carrying out their duties would not be tolerated. |
