| Three arrested with Heroin (Chitta) in Reasi; 15 grams recovered | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, Oct 3: In its continued efforts to combat drug abuse, the District Police in Reasi have arrested three notorious drug peddlers and seized 15 grams of heroin (Chitta) from their possession.
Sumit Sharma, son of Mohan Lal from Searli Katra, was apprehended at PCP Searli Naka, and 5 grams of heroin (Chitta) were recovered from his possession. A case has been registered under FIR No. 308/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Police Station Katra, and an investigation is underway. Divansh Sharma, son of Vipan Sharma from Ward No. 2 Tea Garden Katra, and Madhav Thakur, son of Brij Mohan from Matyal Tehsil Katra, were apprehended at PCP Nomain Naka. Each of them had 5 grams of heroin (Chitta) in their possession. A case has been registered under FIR No. 307/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Police Station Katra, and an investigation has been initiated.
These operations were led by SHO Katra Inspector Nishant Gupta, under the supervision of SDPO Katra Sh. Surinder Singh-JKPS, and overall supervision by SP Katra Sh. Vipan Chandran-JKPS.
Sr. Superintendent of Police Reasi, Sh. Amit Gupta-JKPS, emphasized that the Reasi police are dedicated to eradicating the menace of drug abuse from the area. He urged people from all sections of society to cooperate with the police in their anti-narcotics efforts and to report any information regarding drug abuse and peddlers/addicts to the dedicated anti-drug helpline number 9070907017. The identity of the caller will be kept confidential. |
