Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 4: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, led a tree plantation drive as part of Sewa Pakhwada near the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Park in Jammu. The event aimed to promote environmental conservation and raise awareness about the importance of greenery. The tree plantation drive was organized by Varun Sharma, Vice President of Gandhi Nagar Mandal. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students of Shastri Shiksha Kendra High School Gandhi Nagar, led by Principal Sumesh Dhamral, along with dedicated staff members. Several prominent individuals attended the event, including Rekha Mahajan (District President), Vinay Gupta, Bharat Bhushan, Narnder Koki, Indu Bhushan Sharma, Arun Khosla, Varun Sharma, Arvind Gupta, Ankush Dogra, Rajesh Bhau, Raghav Arora, Priyanka Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Rajeev Langer, Sanju Bhau, Rampaul, Bhushan Verma, Munish Gupta, Chander Kant Sharma, Tilak Raj Sharma, Anil Kohli, Bhrighu Sharma, Vikas Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma Balraj, Swaran Verma, and Dinesh Sharma. Kavinder Gupta emphasized the paramount importance of preserving and nurturing the environment. He highlighted the crucial role of trees, often referred to as "green gold," in maintaining the delicate balance of the ecosystem. Increasing the green cover, he stated, was essential to safeguarding the planet's ecological equilibrium. Gupta mentioned that the tree plantation drive was not a one-time effort but part of a sustained commitment to the environment. He stressed the importance of providing proper care and attention to the planted saplings for their growth and survival. The involvement of students in the plantation drive aimed to educate them about the importance of "Green Gold." Gupta encouraged students to take personal responsibility for environmental preservation by planting at least one sapling on their birthdays and ensuring the saplings' proper care and growth.
