GDC Mahanpur conducts breast cancer awareness campaign

MAHANPUR, Oct 7: Government Degree College (GDC) Mahanpur recently organized a crucial awareness campaign on Breast Cancer under the esteemed guidance of the college's Principal, Dr. Sangeeta Sudan. The event, centered around the theme "Close the Care Gap," aimed to educate students and the community about the importance of early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
Dr. Punam Bhau, a Medical Officer from CHC Basohli, served as the resource person for the event. She imparted valuable knowledge to the students about preventing breast cancer by taking proactive measures. Dr. Bhau also addressed the causes and symptoms of the disease and discussed various preventive strategies that can be employed.
Principal Dr. Sangeeta Sudan also shared her insights during the event, emphasizing the significance of breast cancer prevention. Her guidance aimed to raise awareness among the students and encourage them to take responsible actions to safeguard their health.
The program was gracefully conducted by Dr. Sapna Devi, the Head of the Hindi Department, and organized by Dr. Parshotam Das, the Head of the Sanskrit Department.
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals, including Dr. Balbinder Singh, Prof. Arvind Kumar, Sourabh Dutta, Prof. Meena Devi, Dr. Mohd. Sardar Bhatti, Dr. Hilal Ahmed Bhat, Dr. Ajay Manhas, and Prof. Suman. Their participation highlighted the collective effort to spread awareness about breast cancer and emphasized the importance of early detection and preventive measures.
GDC Mahanpur's commitment to hosting such awareness campaigns underscores its dedication to the well-being of its students and the local community.
