GDC Kathua inaugurates 50 hours skill based training program

KATHUA, Oct 7: Career Counselling and Placement Cell, Govt Degree College Kathua in collaboration with Bombay stock exchange ltd launched 50 hours Skill Based Training Program in Mutual Fund. A formal launch of the program was held on 7th October, 2023 at Smart Class room of Govt Degree College Kathuaunder the overall supervision of Prof. Seema Meer, Principal GDC Kathua. The launch of the program was attended by Prof. Rakesh Singh, Convener Career Counselling and Placement Cell GDC Kathua; Prof. Raj Kiran; Ravi Kumar, Master Trainer Bombay Stock Exchange; Jasbir Badhan, Distt Coordinator; members of Carrier Counseling and Placement Cell Dr. Anupama Arora, Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Dr. Roshan Lal, Prof. Rahul Sharma, Prof. Shiv Kumar, Prof. Neha Mahajan, Prof. Himani, Dr. Jasvinder Singh, Dr. Verinder Singh, Prof. Nisha and Prof Natasha Balloria.
Prof. Seema Mir, Principal GDC Kathua stressed on the need of such type of skill courses for the younger generations for self employment which is also the demand of NEP-2020. Shecongratulated the Convener and members of career counselling and placement cell for taking this initiative by collaborating with BSE.
Prof. Rakesh Singh, Convener, Career Counselling and placement cell welcome the participants and in his welcome address he made the students aware about the course and said that this program has been designed to attract bright young graduates/doing graduation who want to build a career in Banking Industry/Mutual Fund. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Raj Kiran Sharma who addressed the maiden batch of over 50 students said that this training program is designed for upgrading skills of youth in non conventional economics sector like banking and financial services having high employability potential.
Resource Person of the event Ravi Kumar highlighted the role of Mutual fund Industry in India and across the world. He made the participants aware that after joining this course they shall be eligible for registration under National Institute of Security Markets (NISM). NISM certificate is mandatory for any Bank related Job. Moreover various employment opportunities in the financial sector were also discussed in his deliberations.
Jasbir Badhan, Distt Coordinator, in his deliberations discussed various employment opportunities in the financial sector. He asked the students to take benefit from such programs which are offered free of cast to students by BSE.
