GDC Purmandal organizes entrepreneurship awareness programme

JAMMU, Oct 7: The Career Counselling Cell of Government Degree College (GDC) Purmandal, in partnership with the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Samba, organized a one-day awareness programme focused on "Entrepreneurship and Startup." The event, held under the patronage of Prof. [Dr.] Raj Shree Dhar, the Principal of the college, aimed to enlighten students about entrepreneurship concepts and the various startup schemes, financial support, and guidance provided by JKEDI to aspiring entrepreneurs in the Union Territory.
The resource persons for the event were Vishal Ray, In-Charge of the Start-Up and Incubation Centre, and Divisional Officer for Jammu, along with Vir Partap Singh Slathia, District Nodal Officer at JKEDI Samba. Their expertise and experiences in the field of entrepreneurship were shared through engaging presentations, leaving a lasting impact on the students.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. Shahima Akther, the Convener of the Career Counselling Cell. She highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in today's dynamic world and the role it plays in fostering economic growth and self-reliance. Prof. Akther also emphasized the significance of JKEDI's support and initiatives in nurturing entrepreneurial talent in the region.
The event witnessed the presence of other esteemed faculty members, including Prof. Lakshmi Sohan, Prof. Mohammad Rafi, and Dr. Deepika Mehra, who joined in the initiative to promote entrepreneurship awareness among the students.
GDC Purmandal's collaboration with JKEDI Samba for this awareness programme reflects its commitment to empowering students with the knowledge and opportunities needed to explore entrepreneurship as a career path. By providing insights into startup schemes and resources, the college aims to inspire and guide the entrepreneurial aspirations of its students and contribute to the economic development of the Union Territory.
