ANANTNAG, Oct 7: In continuation of ongoing ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ program, Amrit Kalash Yatra was today held at the famous Verinag Garden in Anantnag. The event witnessed active participation from local PRIs, school children and citizens, underscoring a united effort to contribute to the initiative of nation-building. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, SF Hamid emphasized the importance of gathering soil or grains from every household, ward, and village during this block-level event.Highlighting the integral role of citizens in the development of the nation, the DC articulated the campaign as a means to connect youth with their roots and immortalize the contributions of martyrs who have sacrificed for the Nation. The occasion featured the playing of the Mitti Anthem, underscoring the cultural essence of the initiative. The Amrit Kalash Yatra involved the collection of soil from various Panchayats within the block, symbolizing unity and dedication to the nation. This collective Amrit Kalash will be dispatched from Anantnag, serving as a representation of the region’s unwavering commitment to the building of new India. The campaign, aims to pay tribute to the beloved Motherland and the courageous Veers who have made the supreme sacrifice for our nation. |
