JAMMU, Oct 7: The Shri Ram Universal School (TSUSJ) recently hosted a heartwarming ceremony at the Shri Sanskruti auditorium to celebrate Grandparents' Day in honor of the kindergarten students' beloved grandparents. The event witnessed a delightful array of activities and performances by the young ones, showcasing their affection and appreciation for their grandparents.
The ceremony was graced by Brig Anil Gupta (Retd), a distinguished member of the BCCI Sub-Committee for the administration of JKCA, who was invited as the Chief Guest. The festivities commenced with the lighting of a lamp by Brig Anil Gupta, accompanied by some grandparents and members of the School Management Committee. In a thoughtful gesture, the Chief Guest received a potted plant from Sanjeev Gupta, Chairman of TSUSJ, and Rajni Gupta, Director of TSUSJ, symbolizing the school's commitment to promoting a green policy.
Col VK Sharma (Retd), the school's Principal, extended a warm welcome to the attendees and highlighted the invaluable role that grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren. He emphasized that the bond between grandparents and grandchildren remains a vital source of love, knowledge, and experience in today's rapidly changing world.
The highlight of the event was the captivating performances by the kindergarten students, who charmed the audience with melodious songs and scintillating dance routines. The teachers also engaged the grandparents in entertaining riddles and games, adding an element of fun to the celebrations.
Brig Anil Gupta (Retd), in his address, lauded the exceptional efforts of both the students and their mentors in making the event a grand success. Recognizing the significant influence grandparents have on molding the personalities of the little ones, he urged them to continue preserving and passing on cultural traditions to the younger generation. He commended the school's teaching pedagogy, which encourages respect for culture and heritage, and called for values like equality, patriotism, and societal contribution to be instilled in the young minds.
To conclude the ceremony, Shivani Vaid Sharma, Head Mistress of TSUSJ, expressed her gratitude in the vote of thanks, marking the culmination of a memorable Grandparents' Day celebration at The Shri Ram Universal School.
This heartwarming event not only celebrated the cherished bond between generations but also reinforced the school's commitment to nurturing cultural values and fostering a sense of belonging within its student community.
