CBC organizes ICOP for Swachhata Hi Seva campaign at Govt High School, Thiksay | | | Early Times Report LEH, Oct 7: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organized an Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) at Government High School (GHS) Thiksay in Leh district as part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. The event saw the active participation of over one hundred students, along with the entire teaching and non-teaching staff of the school. Addressing the gathering, Principal GHS Sh Mumtaz Hussain expressed gratitude to CBC for selecting their school as the venue for the event. He encouraged the students to take responsibility for their surroundings and emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in their environment. The Principal urged the authorities to organize such events regularly to instill the message of cleanliness in the young minds of the students. As part of the ICOP, a 'Swachhata Pledge' was administered to the students, encouraging them to promote cleanliness and allocate two hours every week to cleanliness-related activities. The program also featured cultural performances by the students of GHS Thiksay, which received praise from the audience. During the ICOP, a dustbin was donated to the school, and the students actively participated in a cleanliness drive to clean the school's surroundings. Field Publicity Officer of CBC Field Office Leh, Aamir Amin Nowshahri, expressed his gratitude to the district administration of Leh and the school authorities for their support in organizing the ICOP at short notice. He emphasized the importance of cleanliness as a life motto and encouraged students to promote it among others.
