10/7/2023 10:25:40 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 7: In a significant development, the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Jammu have made a substantial breakthrough in the train jewelry theft case that took place on October 7, 2022. Stolen ornaments worth a total of Rs. 16.2 lakhs have been successfully recovered, bringing respite to the victim.
The incident came to light last year when a complainant reported the theft of her precious golden and silver ornaments, valued at Rs. 16.2 lakhs, by unknown thieves aboard a running train at Platform No. 01 of the Jammu Railway station. In response to the complaint, a case was registered under section 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at PS GRP Jammu, marking the commencement of an exhaustive investigation.
Over the course of this investigation, numerous suspects were questioned, and critical technical evidence was gathered. The relentless pursuit of the truth led to the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the supervision of SSP Railway Jammu, Mohan Lal Kaith, with Albeena Malik serving as SDPO Railway Jammu.
Under the leadership of Inspector Madan Lal, the investigation team executed a series of raids in Haryana, resulting in the arrest of three individuals directly linked to the theft. During interrogations, the suspects admitted their involvement in the crime and subsequently disclosed the location of the stolen ornaments.
As a result of their painstaking efforts, all the stolen ornaments, amounting to Rs. 16.2 lakhs, were successfully recovered. This significant breakthrough in the case has provided solace to the victim and underscores the commitment of GRP Jammu in ensuring justice for the affected parties.
Furthermore, this dedicated and persistent pursuit of justice by the GRP team has yielded remarkable results, leading to the recovery of over 200 grams of golden ornaments, worth Rs. 14.5 lakhs, in connection with both FIR 15/2022 and FIR 15/2023. The tireless efforts of law enforcement personnel continue to uphold the principles of justice and security in the region.
