Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 10: In a resolute effort to combat the menace of drugs and promote a drug-free society, the Range Police Headquarters, Jammu, conducted an ambitious Drug Awareness Campaign today. The program was held at Government Higher Secondary School Bhalwal and was part of the Civic Action Programme, under the leadership of DIG JAMMU-SAMBA-KATHUA RANGE, Shakti Kumar Pathak-IPS. The event witnessed the participation of staff and students from Govt. Higher Secondary School Bhalwal, as well as concerned members of the civil society in the surrounding area. The program commenced with a warm welcome extended to the Chief Guest, Rajinder Singh Katoch SSP, SO to DIG Jammu, and the Guest of Honor, SP Rural Rahul Charak, and Zorawar Singh Jamwal. Rajinder Singh Katoch emphasized the importance of organizing such awareness programs across the jurisdiction of each police station in Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts. He urged students not only to excel in their studies but also to actively participate in sports and cultural activities while steering clear of drugs and negative influences. Vidhyutma Gupta, the school's Principal, provided insights into the types and detrimental effects of drugs. She urged students to distance themselves from drugs and bad company. Students from the school delivered essays on the harmful effects of drugs, and they were awarded rewards of Rs. 500 each along with certificates from RPHQ, Jammu, and an additional Rs. 500 each from Zorawar Singh Jamwal (Team Jammu). The event featured Dogri Kavita (poetry) presentations on the adverse effects of the drug menace by Randir Singh Rajpuria, Dr. Sushma Rajput, and Roshan Bral. SP Rural Rahul Charak, Zorawar Singh Jamwal (Team Jammu), Vikas Sharma (Drug de-addiction & Rehab Centre Domana), and Sarpanch Bhalwal Raj Dev Singh shared their insights regarding the harmful consequences of drugs and alcohol. All speakers encouraged students to participate in sports, focus on their studies, and always obey their parents. The event was impeccably coordinated by Tr. Anjali Jamwal of Govt. Higher Secondary School Bhalwal. The Principal, staff, and students of Govt. Higher Secondary School Bhalwal, along with members of the civil society and the general public, expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir Police RPHQ, Jammu, for organizing this important program. These events are instrumental in providing valuable information and resources to help individuals make informed decisions. The program concluded with a pledge taken by all students, school staff, dignitaries, civil society members, the general public, and all employees of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
