GDC Darhal drives clean India 3.0 campaign with a pioneering cleanliness initiative | | | Early Times Report DARHAL, Oct 17: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, popularly known as the Clean India Mission, has been a nationwide initiative spearheaded by the Government of India. In a spirited embrace of this campaign, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit (IMDAD) of Government Degree College Darhal orchestrated a profound Cleanliness Drive on the 17th of October within the College premises, carrying the banner of Clean India 3.0 Program. Dedicated NSS volunteers took the lead in cleansing the College campus while simultaneously generating awareness and motivating fellow students to prioritize cleanliness. During the inaugural session, Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, the NSS Program Officer, shared his valuable insights with the NSS volunteers, emphasizing the significance of community service through direct involvement in community activities. This impactful event was conducted under the sagacious leadership of Prof. Mussaraf Hussain Shah, the College's Principal. In his address to the NSS volunteers, he underscored the urgent need to transform India from a developing country into a developed nation. He articulated that the youth's maximum engagement, channeled through organizations like NSS, is pivotal to this transformative journey. Prof. Shah also stressed the importance of understanding cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and the detrimental health effects associated with poor hygiene and an unclean environment. A clean environment is fundamental for nurturing a healthy body and mind, and it is incumbent upon everyone to maintain cleanliness in their homes and surroundings, ultimately striving for a clean and green environment that can be bequeathed to future generations. At the conclusion of this meaningful initiative, Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, the NSS Program Officer, extended his heartfelt gratitude to the staff and dedicated NSS volunteers for their wholehearted participation. He fervently urged NSS volunteers to commit themselves to the betterment of society, underscoring the importance of effective waste management and the reduction of plastic usage by advocating the production and use of cloth bags in daily life. The success of this event was made possible by the dedicated faculty members, including Dr. Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi, Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, Dr. Imtiaz Hussain Shah, and Prof. Tahir Mahmood. The government-led Clean India campaign, through initiatives like these, holds the potential to bring about lasting changes by fostering a culture of cleanliness and environmental stewardship among India's youth, who are the torchbearers of the nation's future. |
