Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Oct 19: Government Degree College Udhampur (Boys) conducted a significant Saving Bank Account Opening Drive for both its students and faculty, in partnership with Punjab National Bank (PNB). The initiative was spearheaded by the college's Principal, Prof. (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta, aiming to instill financial knowledge among students and illustrate the benefits of opening a bank account at a young age. This initiative drew an enthusiastic response from the students, who were intrigued by the opportunity to open their bank accounts. The college provided its full support to the endeavor. The team from Punjab National Bank, including Virender Kumar Khajuria (Branch Head, PNB, Dhar Road Udhampur), Sourabh Gupta (Senior Manager, Branch Head, PNB, Main Bazar Udhampur), Deepak Kumar (Manager, CAC - Customer Acquisition Centre, Jammu), and Mr. Haricharan Sewak (Marketing Officer, CAC - Customer Acquisition Centre, Jammu), played a pivotal role in facilitating account openings for the faculty and students. More than 150 students, including both teaching and non-teaching faculty, seized the opportunity to open accounts with PNB. The students displayed significant interest, as the drive focused on opening zero-balance accounts, complete with numerous benefits that PNB offers. The bank representatives also shared information about the various advantageous schemes available to account holders.
