Early Times Report SAMBA, Oct 19: In a significant development, the Samba Police, under the vigilant leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police, Benam Tosh, have successfully apprehended four hardcore criminals involved in grievous attacks on both women and the police. The arrests were made within the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana and Police Station Vijaypur. The arrested individuals are: Mohd Ashraf alias Ashu, son of Roshan Din, resident of Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur Liaqat Ali alias Laaki, son of Babu, resident of Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur Mam Hussain, son of Babu, resident of Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur One more criminal, yet to be identified Out of these four hardcore criminals, three were apprehended in connection with an attack on the police, documented under case FIR No. 132/2023, according to sections 307, 382, 332, 353, 148, 149, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Police Station Vijaypur. The incident involved an attack on a police party, who were on patrolling duty and were assaulted by heroin smugglers and their supporters near Rakh Barotian in the previous month. The fourth criminal was apprehended in connection with case FIR No. 247/2023, under sections 307, 452, 323, 147, and 506 of the IPC at Police Station Bari Brahmana. This case pertains to an attack on a woman, who was seriously injured and subsequently hospitalized after being assaulted with a sharp-edged weapon. The dedicated police teams, led by SHO Police Station Vijaypur, Sandeep Charak, and SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana, Sumit Sharma, operated under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur, Rohit Kumar, SDPO Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar, and Addl. SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary. Senior Superintendent of Police, Benam Tosh, commended the efforts of the Samba Police, highlighting that a total of 142 hardcore criminals have been apprehended in the past nine months. He emphasized the resolve of the police to take stringent legal actions against criminals, miscreants, and disruptive elements within the district, ensuring the safety and security of the community. |
