Early Times Report KATRA, Oct 19: The ongoing eight-day multimedia exhibition, focusing on "9 Years of Seva, Sushashan aur Garib Kalyan," organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) in Katra, continues to captivate visitors as it entered its fourth day on Thursday. The exhibition aims to create mass awareness about various government welfare schemes and the progress made in different sectors over the last nine years. It is being conducted by the CBC's Field Office, Udhampur, at Government Higher Secondary School, Katra, from October 16 to October 23. The exhibition disseminates information about these welfare schemes in an integrated manner through photo exhibits, informative standees, expert lectures, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, as well as through performing arts and cultural programs. District Development Council (DDC) member, Katra, Ms. Nirmala Devi, presided over the proceedings on the fourth day. She commended the CBC's efforts in creating public awareness at the grassroots level. She noted that the exhibition provides an opportunity for local residents and devotees to learn about a wide range of government programs and schemes aimed at public welfare. Ghulam Abbas, Joint Director of CBC, J&K, and Ladakh region, emphasized that awareness is the first step in the successful implementation of public welfare schemes. He highlighted how CBC works to ensure that the public has the right information to avail themselves of the benefits. The multimedia exhibition in Katra is designed to provide information through direct interaction between stakeholders in an easy and entertaining manner. Rahul Kushan, Branch Head of State Bank of India (SBI), Katra, addressed the audience and provided insights into various schemes aimed at financial inclusion, self-employment, farmer welfare, social security, and the upliftment of the poor and marginalized. He discussed schemes such as Atal Pension Yojana (APY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), National Livelihoods Mission (NLM), and PM MUDRA Yojana. Collaborating with the Government Higher Secondary School, Katra, various student activities were organized, including a devotional dance competition and tug of war for girls. Students from different schools in the Katra subdivision participated with enthusiasm. An open quiz focusing on Central Sector Schemes and Centrally Sponsored Schemes was also conducted by CBC. Prizes and commendation certificates were awarded to the winners in each competition category at the conclusion of the program. As part of CBC's integrated communication strategy, empaneled cultural troupes from different parts of the country continued to captivate the audience with performances aimed at providing information through entertainment. Alongside the activities centered around the theme of "9 Years of Seva, Sushasan aur Garib Kalyan," the performances also promoted national integration and communal harmony as part of the "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" initiative. |
