Police post Sarwal recovers stolen items, arrests suspect in theft cases

Jammu, Oct 24: On the evening of October 3, 2023, a written complaint was lodged by Shah Mohd, son of Bagh Ali and resident of H.No. 187, Sector A, Subash Nagar, Jammu. He reported that unknown individuals had broken into his house and stolen a DBB (12 Bore Gun) bearing number 28233-09, manufactured by Tusker Friends Company, along with Rs. 20,000 in cash and a mobile phone belonging to his tenant, worth Rs. 25,000. Promptly responding to this written complaint, a case under FIR No. 144/2023 U/S 454/380 IPC was registered, and an investigation was initiated. During the course of the investigation, the team from ICPP Sarwal, led by PSI Dhanraj Singh, and under the supervision of DySP Vikram Singh, SDPO City West, with the assistance of SHO P/S Bakshinagar, Inspector Rakesh, and the overall supervision of SP City North, Kuldeep Handa, made diligent efforts. They used CCTV footage to identify a suspect, Mr. Shuba Shubam, son of Mr. Satish Kumar and resident of H. No. 319, Gurah Qasim Nagar, Bakshinagar, A/P near Kali Mata Mandir, Shiv Nagar, Jammu.
Upon questioning the suspect, he confessed to his involvement in the aforementioned case. Subsequently, the stolen DBB 12 Bore Gun and 14 rounds, cash amounting to Rs. 25,000, and the stolen mobile phone were recovered.
Further interrogation of the accused led to his confession of involvement in another theft case registered on October 7, 2023, under U/S 454/380 IPC at P/S Bakshinagar. As a result of this disclosure, stolen gold ornaments weighing 57.42 grams and Rs. 25,000 in cash were also recovered.
