Gurjar desh charitable trust hosts “One day Gojri writers meet”

Jammu, Oct 26: The Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust (GDCT), a non-governmental organization dedicated to the welfare of tribals in Jammu & Kashmir, organized a “One Day Gojri Writers Meet” at Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust in Jammu on October 26, 2023. Writers from various parts of Jammu & Kashmir, along with other participants, gathered for this event.
In the welcome address, M.S. Chouhan, General Secretary of GDCT, warmly welcomed the writers and attendees. The meeting was chaired by Advocate Shah Mohd Chowdhary, Chairman of the Trust, and attended by various dignitaries and special invitees.
The participants praised GDCT for its efforts in promoting education among tribals, preserving their culture, and fostering the Gojri language and literature. They suggested measures to further enhance Gojri Language and Literature.
During the event, a book titled “Yaadan Ga Dard” written by Sikander Hayat Tariq was released, with Nikhat Choudhary highlighting the book’s contents. GDCT management honored various individuals with mementos and certificates of appreciation for their significant contributions to Gojri language and literature.
Shah Mohd Chowdhary highlighted the achievements and measures taken by GDCT to promote Gojri language and literature, despite facing several challenges.
Arshad Ali Choudhary, Sr. Vice Chairman of GDCT, expressed his appreciation for the writers’ contributions and thanked all the guests, media personnel, trustees, and staff for the event’s success. A group photograph was taken at the end of the meeting, followed by lunch for all participants.
The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Naseem Akhter. The event was deemed a great success in fostering Gojri language and literature.
