10/26/2023 10:10:12 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 26: The BJP Mahila Morcha celebrated Accession Day with great enthusiasm and pride, commemorating the historical significance of October 26, when Jammu and Kashmir formally became an integral part of India. The event brought together hundreds of individuals from various backgrounds, highlighting the unity and spirit of brotherhood that defines the region.
At the event, Chief Spokesperson of BJP Mahila Morcha J&KUT, Ritika Trehan, emphasized the historical importance of Accession Day. She reiterated that the accession of Jammu and Kashmir to the Union of India was full and final, following the path taken by princely states in other parts of India during the post-independence era. She urged the youth to actively educate the masses about the historical significance of this day and emphasized the need for every citizen to take pride in the progress and development witnessed in the region since accession.
Ritika called for the day to be celebrated as a festival, with individuals pledging to protect the unity and integrity of the state against any forces that may seek to undermine its connection with the rest of India.
She lauded Maharaja Hari Singh's decision to sign the Instrument of Accession as a bold and visionary step, making the people of Jammu and Kashmir proud to be an integral part of the world's largest democracy. She reiterated that the accession of Jammu and Kashmir to India is full and final, reinforcing the state's status as an integral and inseparable part of the Indian nation.
Ritika also expressed hope that the regions still under the illegal occupation of Pakistan and China would one day hoist the tricolour. She paid rich tributes to the last Dogra ruler of J&K, Maharaja Hari Singh, and recalled the historic moments of the signing of the accession and the defeat of Pakistani raiders who attempted to control the Srinagar airport. She credited the work started by the Maharaja as being completed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019.
