GDC Kalakote celebrates varied activities under the banner of UT Foundation Day

Kalakote, Oct 28: On 25th of October GDC Kalakote organized a series of activities as a part of UT Foundation Day in the college premises. The activities were organized to capture the essence of transformation and progress of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, with a tagline Badalta Jammu Kashmir, Badhta Jammu Kashmir-Aman Taraqqi ki Nayi Tasveer, under the patronage of Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora.
The series of competitions included Essay writing competition, Videography competition, Photography and Painting competition in which students of all semesters participated enthusiastically. The whole competition was adjudged by Dr. Farooq, Dr. Gulam Nabi and Mrs. Khalida Parveen. In essay writing competition, Deepika (Semester 2nd) got Ist position, While in Painting and videography competition Kamal Singh (Semester 2nd) Bagged 1st position and in Photography competition Manisha Thakur (Semester 5th got 1st position).
During this celebration participants expressed their innovative thoughts and views that were truly reflected in their paintings, videography and photography. In the painting competition all the students expressed their imaginative pursuits on the canvas showing remarkable transformation of Jammu and Kashmir with a surge in developmental initiatives. All the participants participated wholeheartedly and presented Jammu and Kashmir’ s journey of progress and change in a very creative and Kaleidoscopic manner. The competition was adjudged by Dr. Farooq, Dr. Ghulam Nabi and Mrs. Khalida Parveen.
At the end of all these activities Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora and Prof. Dr Farooq Mirza (HOD Education) appreciated the efforts of students and also encouraged the whole organizing committee of the college. Manisha Thakur, Semester 5th student who secured Ist position in intra-college photography competition was sent for district level competition where the candidate secured 2nd position. Government Degree College Kalakote also participated in Selfie contest to capture the spirit of change and growth through the visual mode.”
