Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 31: The National Service Scheme Unit 'Prabha' of Government Degree College Ramgarh celebrated 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' with a Pledge Taking Ceremony, Unity Run, and an Awareness Lecture to honor the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the 'Iron Man of India.' The program was executed under the guidance and leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the college's Principal.
During the event, the Principal emphasized the critical role of national integration in keeping society connected and resilient. Unity, she noted, is about living together, working, understanding, and cooperating with one another. It begins within families, as strong family bonds contribute to overall unity. In the contemporary era, the youth must work together for the unification of the country, and this process begins with fostering unity within families.
Approximately 60 volunteers from the college's NSS Unit, in collaboration with college staff, participated in the Unity Run with great enthusiasm.
Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Head of the Education Department, served as the resource person and delivered a lecture on National Unity. She discussed the concept of Unity in Diversity, the path to India's independence, the Indian Independence Act, and its recommendations. Prof. Kumari underscored Sardar Patel's pivotal role in uniting the country.
The Pledge Taking Ceremony was overseen by NSS volunteer Ms. Chahat Tidyal. All enrolled students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff took the pledge to uphold unity and integrity.
Dr. Shamsher Lal, NSS Program Officer, coordinated the entire program, contributing to its success. The event was a fitting tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's legacy and his role in unifying the nation.
