Jammu, Oct 31: In a recent police operation in Satwari, Jammu, a substantial quantity of narcotics and cash were seized, leading to the arrest of two individuals. The incident occurred when a police checkpoint was established at Dashmesh Nagar Chowk, Satwari. Around 3:00 PM, the police stopped a black Hyundai Creta with the registration number JK02DC-9666 as it was traveling from Dashmesh Nagar towards Satwari Chowk. Upon seeing the police, the driver attempted to turn back abruptly, arousing suspicion. The police quickly gave chase and apprehended the vehicle. The two individuals inside the car were identified as Rashpal Singh, son of Pritam Singh, residing in Maha Kali Nagar, Gadi Garh, and Chanchal Singh, son of Iqbal Singh, residing at H.No. 08, Sector-D, Sainik Colony, Jammu. During a personal search of Rashpal Singh, approximately 30 grams of a banned narcotics substance known as “Chitta” (Heroin) were discovered. Additionally, Rs 17,000 in cash was found. In Chanchal Singh’s possession, approximately 3-5 grams of “Chitta” were recovered. Subsequently, a case was registered under FIR No 234/2023 U/S 8/21/22/25/27-a/29 of the NDPS Act at the Satwari Police Station. Further investigations into the matter are ongoing. This operation demonstrates the continued efforts of law enforcement to combat illegal narcotics trafficking and substance abuse in the region. |
