| 18 Grams of heroin seized at Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 31: In a significant narcotics seizure, the police party from Gharota Police Station confiscated approximately 18 grams of Heroin (commonly known as “Chitta”)-like narcotic substance. The accused, identified as Sachin Sharma, son of Rajinder Sharma and a resident of Ramgarh Samba, was apprehended while attempting to meet an undertrial prisoner named Pankaj Sharma at Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
The seizure took place during a routine security check at the jail premises, further underscoring the ongoing efforts to prevent illegal substances from entering correctional facilities. A case has been registered under FIR no. 86/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Gharota Police Station, and an in-depth investigation is already underway.
